DECCO APPOINTS MARTIN SUTCLIFFE AS LEEDS MANAGER

Leading home improvement and garden wholesaler, Decco has appointed Martin Sutcliffe as Manager for Decco Leeds, following Andrew Ballantine's promotion to Chief Operating Officer. The appointment is effective from 1st August 2018.

Martin joins Decco from sister company Edmundson Electrical, where he began his career in 2011 as a graduate trainee. Since then he has managed three different branches, the most recent being Edmundson Electrical Grimsby.

Commenting on his appointment, Martin said, "I'm delighted to be joining one of the most respected names in the garden and home improvement industry in these exciting times. It's a real opportunity to deliver great service and support to our retail customers, while offering our supplier partners the best route to the marketplace."

 

 

DECCO appoints Andrew Ballantine as new Chief Operating Officer

Leading home improvement and garden wholesaler, Decco has appointed Andrew Ballantine as its Chief Operating Officer, following the departure of Charlie Lacey to take up a position as Managing Director of the Stearn Electric Company Limited.

The appointment is effective from 1st June 2018.Andrew joined Decco in 1998 and was appointed Profit Centre Manager for Sheffield in 1999 before taking up his current role of Profit Centre Manager for Leeds in 2003. With his 20 years’ service, he brings with him a wealth of knowledge of the industry.

Commenting on his appointment, Andrew said,

“I’m delighted to be leading the team at Decco in these exciting times.  Decco remains committed to offering a great service to our customers and to offering our suppliers the best route to market for their products.”

Both Decco and Stearn are among the eight subsidiary businesses belonging to Newbury Investments (UK) Limited.

 

 

 

Harris And Decco Confirm Independent Retailer Partnership 

Leading paint brush and roller manufacturer Harris and national home improvement and garden wholesaler Decco have agreed a distribution partnership to support independent retailers.  The agreement, effective immediately provides retailers with access to a wide range of quality brushes, rollers, decorating tools and brooms under the Harris, Lynwood and Groundsman brands. 
Through the partnership, retail customers can benefit from Decco’s low minimum order value, regular scheduled deliveries, competitive pricing and the ability to order in singles rather than cases.  In addition, an extensive calendar of promotions has been agreed, which will further enhance the competitiveness of the offer.

Independent retailers and Decco customers, Andrew and Christine Maddock from Morrey’s of Holme Chapel, who currently order their Harris stock through Decco commented, “We’d encourage any retailer to order Harris product from Decco - it’s a no brainer.  We switched our Harris direct business to Decco some years ago and have benefitted greatly from their fast deliveries and wide stock holding, while still enjoying similar terms to Harris direct, Andrew continued, “Combining our Harris orders with Decco’s other leading brands also means we don’t have to wait to meet the Harris minimum order value.”

 

 

 

Decco Raises £1750 In Loctite Hanging Man Challenge

To help celebrate the Rainy Day Trust’s 175th anniversary and fundraising drive, the manager of Decco’s Leeds distribution centre, Andrew Ballantine was literally left hanging as he became the latest industry figure to prove the strength of Henkel’s Loctite brand.

The stunt took place at Decco’s recent Leeds trade show at York Racecourse and with the aid of the exhibiting Henkel team, Andrew undertook the Loctite Hanging Man Challenge, which replicates the Henkel TV advertisement for Loctite SuperGlue. £1750.00 was raised for the Rainy Day Trust’s #Challenge175.

Commenting on the experience, Andrew said, “Not something I’d recommend anyone to try at home, but thanks to Henkel, I felt I was in safe hands. It was a great way to raise money for the industry charity and I’d like to thank all the exhibiting Decco suppliers and all the Decco customers who came along and supported the cause. Decco trade shows are always great fun, but being the Loctite Hanging Man really added something extra to the proceedings.”

All Decco’s regional distribution centre managers are supporting the Rainy Day Trust’s #Challenge175, as well as several members of the Decco management team.
